The Alpha version buses were initially air brush painted with acrylic lacquer. When the Omega version was launched in April 2002, all buses were air brushed with urethane transparent automotive enamel paints. Both the Alpha and Omega versions received this highly improved paint system in early 2002. The transition to automotive paint rendered an incredibly tough finish that will hold its color and shine for a lifetime and then some. The new paint system was still applied one car at a time, with the different colors requiring from 8 to 12 coats of paint!
